Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information BizLocationDB ("we", "us") collects when you use bizlocationdb.com (the "Site"), and how we use it. It doesn't cover the business location Data itself — that's public information about businesses, not personal data about individuals, and is addressed in our License and Terms of Service pages instead.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form. Name, email address, and message content when you use /contact, including any dataset/plan selection made for a pricing inquiry.
- Purchase inquiries. If you buy a commercial license, we collect what's needed to fulfil and invoice the order (name, email, billing details), handled the same way as any other contact request unless we're using a third-party payment processor, in which case that processor's own privacy policy also applies.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand aggregate traffic — pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type. We don't use this to identify you individually.
- Server logs. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and debugging, kept for a limited time.
2. How we use it
- To respond to messages sent through the contact form.
- To process and deliver commercial license purchases.
- To keep the Site secure and working (rate limiting, abuse prevention, debugging).
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use contact-form or purchase details for unrelated marketing without your consent.
3. Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Site and business — for example our email delivery provider (for sending replies and receipts) and, if used, a payment processor for commercial license purchases. We don't share personal information with anyone else, except where required by law.
4. Cookies
Aside from the Enterprise license-tier cookie described above and any cookies set by Google Analytics, the Site does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
5. Data retention
Contact form submissions and purchase records are kept as long as needed to respond to you, fulfil an order, and meet any legal/accounting obligations, after which they're deleted or anonymized. Analytics data follows Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
6. Your choices
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you by contacting us.
- You can use browser extensions or settings to block analytics scripts; the Site will still function normally.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent changes. Material changes will be noted on this page.
8. Contact
